The only perennial groundcover with brilliant blue flowers. Though they average only 6” high, Lithodora can spread 2’-3’ wide and are perfect along sidewalks and as garden borders. They bloom spring through late summer, letting you enjoy those bright flowers for months.
Care
Full to part sun.
Prefers moist, well-draining soil with a pH of 5.5-6.0. Moderately drought tolerant once established, Lithodora does poorly in overly saturated soils. Amend clay soils with Lobster Compost before planting to improve drainage.
Fertilize beginning in spring when new growth emerges. Use a slow-release fertilizer like Dynamite or a fertilizer specifically for flowers like Dr. Earth Total Advantage.
