Do a quick soil pH test - the goal pH is 6.5.
Apply Mag-I-Cal (lime) if needed.
First crabgrass pre-emergent application. Use Jonathan Green Green-Up & Crabgrass Pre-Emergent
March
Apply broadleaf weed control. Recommend: Jonathan Green Lawn Weed Control or Bonide Weed Beater.
April
Continue to apply broadleaf weed control as needed.
May
Apply Jonathan Green Insect & Grub Control for grubs, ticks, and fleas.
Watch for fungus and diseases like Brown Patch- apply Bonide Infuse Fungicide.
June
Continue broadleaf weed control as needed. Apply Jonathan Green Lawn Weed Control or Weed Beater.
Possible second application of Jonathan Green Green-Up & Crabgrass Pre-Emergent if necessary.
July
Continue broadleaf weed control. Use Jonathan Green Lawn Weed Control or Weed Beater.
August
Do a quick soil pH test - the goal pH is 6.5.
Apply Mag-I-Cal (lime) if needed.
Begin lawn renovation preparation by killing all undesirable weeds and grass with Bonide Kleen-Up or all natural Burn Out.
September
Core aeration is highly recommended.
Starting a new lawn? Put down Ken Matthews Grass Seed Blend - specially blended tall fescue seed for our unique area.
First fall application of fertilizer.
Use Jonathan Green New Seeding Lawn Fertilizer for over-seeding or for new lawns. For established lawns apply Jonathan Green Green-Up.
October
Second application of fertilizer. Apply 30-40 days after first application. Use Jonathan Green Green-Up.
November
Third application of fertilizer. Apply Jonathan Green Winter Survival.
December
Spray broadleaf weeds with Weed Beater after you have mowed new grass at least 3-4 times.
